Hydroquinone is a known bleaching ingredient that “whitens” the skin. Its function is to inhibit the melanin from the cells so that no pheomelanin or eumelanin exist. However, the danger of hydroquinone is that it mutates the cells and is a know carcinogenic causing a disease called occhronosis to occur.
